Handheld and Race Readers read all NLIS
approved electronic ID devices? |
|
A. Yes! The
Aleis Handheld and Race Readers read all
branded NLIS approved RFID ear tags and
rumen pellet |
|
Q. My neighbours
have an electronic ID reader, and they had to set it up
before they could use it. I am very new to
all this, and this setup worries me—what are
the setup procedures for an Aleis Reader? |
|
A. None! When
your Aleis Electronic ID Reader arrives, turn it on and
start reading! |
|
Q. My yards have no
power, can Aleis provide me with a
battery-powered reader? |
|
A. Yes! All
models in the Aleis Reader range are
available as self-powered units with an
internal battery or they can be powered by
external power. The battery inside the Aleis
Reader will last for a minimum of ten hours
under continual operation. |
|
Q. Do the Aleis
Readers have a Visual Display? |
|
A. The Aleis
8000 and 9000 Electronic ID Series Readers have a visual
display which provides vital information to
the user in the yards, such as:
RFID Number—the number read
is displayed on the screen.
Counter—every RFID is
counted, and the count is displayed
continuously.
Battery Level Indicator—a
display of the current status of the
battery charge.
RF Signal Indicator—a display
of the signal strength between the RF
Links. |
|
Q. I have seen
other electronic ID visual displays, and I could never see
what was being displayed because of lighting
problems, either the sunlight was too
bright, or in the early morning or evening
hours, it was too dark. What makes the Aleis
Reader visual electronic ID display different from any
other? |
|
A. The Aleis
electronic ID Reader Visual Display has been designed to
be easily read in the sun, and also features
automatic back lighting allowing excellent
vision in dark, cloudy or dim conditions. |
|
Q. I don’t want to
have a computer in the yards, can I still
use an Aleis EID Reader? |
|
A. Yes! Aleis
Readers store the RFIDs you read or there is
a choice of data entry models. This allows
you to either transmit those RFIDs directly
to your computer as you read them or
download those RFIDs back at the office. The
storage capacity on the Aleis electronic ID Readers allows
you to choose how you would like to transmit
data to your computer—instant transfer to
your computer as you read or download later
when you’re finished. |
|
Q. How many RFIDs
can the memory in the Aleis EID Reader hold? |
|
A. The Aleis
EID Reader can store 40,000 RFIDs. |
|
Q. I noticed you
stated that Aleis Readers offer a number of
methods for data transfer, what are they? |
|
A. Aleis
Electronic ID Readers
offer transfer by computer cable. The
computer cable has military spec cannon
fittings to connect the cable to the reader,
and then a serial connection to connect the
cable to your computer. Aleis Readers offer
the option of transfer by RF Link. This
exciting technology allows a ‘cable-less’
transfer of data. An RF Link is built into
the Aleis Reader and then an RF Receiver is
plugged into your computer. The data is then
transferred between these two links. Blue
tooth now available. |
|
